Reimagined Landscape Community Stitch Project
The Community Stitch Project is a collaborative art workshop with artist Natalya Khorover. We’ll transform discarded plastics into a vibrant mixed-media collage, with everyone sorting, cutting, pinning, and stitching pieces together. Please help by collecting soft, colorful, and clean plastic and bringing it to the JCC ahead of time, or with you to the event. The final piece will be unveiled at the JCC as a bold celebration of creativity, teamwork, and sustainability.
All sessions are free and drop-in (you can come at any time within the timeframe) Registration is requested.

Repair is Radical
Extend the Life of What You Love
In this day and age of fast fashion, mending—the lost art of making clothing last—is making a resurgence.
We all have that one favorite garment, whether inherited from a cherished family member, scored from a favorite designer or a thrifted lucky find from a bygone era. If it’s accidentally ripped, irreversibly stained or no longer fits well, does it get thrown out??
Absolutely not! Just about every garment can be mended, patched or altered.
Come and learn how to do basic mends (whether visible or invisible), fun patches and simple alterations on the garments that you love and extend your time with them. You’ll learn basic important stitches, find your way around a colorful patch and finally figure out how to sew on a button.
Bring your beloved pair of torn jeans, favorite but stained t-shirt, your toddlers ripped stuffie, holey socks, that shirt with missing buttons or the pants you’ve needed hemmed for a few years, and discover just how satisfying it is to stitch, patch, and make it all better.
